Your skin type will ultimately dictate the state of your t-zone (the area above the eyebrows, around the nose and the chin). Dilated pores are more commonly experienced by those with oily or combination skin, mainly due to the fact that the skin produces too much oil and secretes it through the pores. Dilated pores are the main cause of blackheads as the pores 'catch' dirt and then become blocked up.

The quickest and easiest way to deal with blackhead is by using a face mask. It's a quick-fix solution to the problem that gives instant results. Using your cleanser twice daily is a longer-term solution that will also help.

When selecting a face mask, try to go for one that contains natural clay. This can also be found in some face scrubs like Triumph & Disaster's Rock & Roll Suicide Face Scrub and 66°30 Purity Cycle Scrub & Mask. Using a clay-based formula helps to draw the dirt from the pores and reduce the size of the opening. Clay is like a magnet to dirt when applied onto the skin. It has a reverse charge to that of the dirt so it naturally attracts blackheads towards it.

This is our most recommended blackhead-busting face mask. This can also be used as a daily cleanser as it's non-abrasive and incredibly gentle on the skin. It comes in powder form so you'll need to mix a small amount of it with some warm water before applying it to the face. After applying, leave it to work its magic for 10 minutes then rinse it off with cold water. Whilst the mask is drying on the skin, you'll feel the face become tighter and the pores appear reduced.

This is a 2-in-1 formula that can be used twice weekly as a scrub and, left on for longer, it can be used as a face mask. It's packed full of naturally ingredients and has been certified organic, this make it perfect for those with sensitive skin. It comes complete with fruit peptides and enzymes that lift the dirt and refine the pores.
