BAXTER OF CALIFORNIA - THE HISTORY
Baxter of California was founded by Baxter Finlay, a Los Angeles based barber and master men's traditional shaver. Baxter moved from Los Angeles to New York in the 1960's and after spending copious amounts of time searching for decent men's grooming products, he discovered that the offering had failed him. Decent men's grooming products just didn't exist.
In the name of heroism, Baxter Finlay began to invest his own precious time into formulating a collection of men's grooming products that would satisfy this modern, growing hunger for good quality men's skincare. After extensive research and collating firm evidence, Baxter Finlay decided to go ahead and launch his own brand of men's grooming super heroes - Baxter of California.
The Baxter of California brand launched with a single product to set the ball rolling. Baxter of California Super Shape Moisturiser put the brand on the map and created a loyal following for Baxter Finlay's expertise. Building on the success of the Super Shape Moisturiser, the Baxter of California range extended to offer a shave cream, an under eye complex and a herbal mint toner; momentum was building fast.
In 2000, Baxter Decided to hand the Baxter of California 'reins' over to his neighbour, a seasoned men's fashion scout. Jean-Pierre Mastey continues to lead Baxter of California to this day making it one of the most respected men's grooming collections in the world.
